How often should you update your will?

Drafting a will is one of the best ways to prepare for the end of your life in California; while it's something that people often feel uncomfortable talking about, it's very important to do it so that your affairs are handled correctly after you pass away. However, once you draft the will, you don't want to just put it aside and forget about it. It needs to be updated.

Today is the best day to create your estate plan

Your will is an important component of your estate plan. When you pass away, your will provides instructions for your loved ones who are left behind. In our previous blog post, we discussed some of the reasons for challenging a will. If you recall, one of those reasons was that the person who drafted the will wasn't legally competent to do so. In some cases, that can be because of declining mental function that might come with age-related conditions like Alzheimer's disease.
