Reasons to challenge a will

When a loved one passes away, people are sometimes unprepared for the contents of the will. In some cases, the will is dramatically different from what they were expecting. When that occurs, they might choose to challenge the will. This isn't something that is easy to do; however, it can be done if there is a situation that would invalidate the will.

Create your estate plan and let your loved ones know the plan

We have often told our readers about the importance of making an estate plan. In some of our posts, we have discussed how important it is to let your loved ones know about your estate plan. In our post last week, we discussed the case of Ernie Banks' will, which is being contested by his wife because she wasn't a party in the will. Instead, Banks left assets to his long-time caregiver.
